PRELITE RIGID PHENOLIC INSULATION PANEL SPECIFICATION
Prelite rigid phenolic insulation panels comprise rigid phenolic insulation, faced on both sides with a protective low vapour permeability 25 micron black aluminium foil, reinforced with a 5mm glass tissue scrim making it extremely durable. This ensures total insulation unlike traditional lagging methods where it has proved almost impossible to achieve a 100% insulation covering over a plenum.
ENVIRONMENTAL PROPERTIES
Prelite rigid phenolic insulation panels are entirely CFC and HCFC-free with zero Ozone Depletion Potential (ODP). They provide designers and specifiers with optimum solutions towards compliance with international environmental agreements.
MOISTURE RESISTANCE
Prelite rigid phenolic insulation panels have a >90% closed cell structure, making them highly resistant to moisture penetration, and they are also non-wicking.
HEAT RESISTANCE
The Prelite plenum box is suitable for use in peak temperatures as high as 800 and continuous operating temperatures up to 70o.
THERMAL PERFORMANCE
The thermal conductivity of Prelite rigid phenolic insulation panels is 0.021 W/m.K at 10oC (mean), the lowest of any commonly available zero ODP material, which only allow the thinnest possible insulation to achieve its required thermal performance.
FIRE & SMOKE PERFORMANCE
The rigid phenolic insulation in the Prelite Plenum box has a resistance to burning and spread of flame far superior to that of any other cellular plastic insulation.
In addition, there is almost complete absence of smoke when subjected to the flame source.
Prelite rigid phenolic insulation panels have been tested by independent laboratories. The tests stated below have been successfully passed.
The Prelite rigid phenolic insulation panels achieve a Class O/low risk rating to the Building Regulations/Standards based on the results of the following tests:
-
BS476:Part 6: 1989 (Fire tests on building materials and structures. Method of test for fire propagation for products); and
-
BS476:Part 7: 1997: (Fire tests on building materials and structures. Method of test for the surface spread of flame for products).
QUALITY ASSURANCE
Prelite rigid phenolic insulation panels are manufactured to BS EN ISO 9002: 1994 (Quality systems. Model for quality assurance in production, installation and servicing).
