Lightweight The exceptional strength to weight ratio of the 20mm rigid phenolic insulation panels means the Prelite Plenum box is easy to handle and install. It weighs as much as 86% less than a 20SWG galvanised sheet 40mm insulation slab.
No light reflection The Prelite insulation panel is faced on both sides with a high emissivity reinforced black foil which is non-reflective. This prevents the problem of light reflecting off the inside of the plenum box through the grille or linear diffuser.
Pre-insulated The Prelite panels are already totally insulated and require no lagging (a method which has proved unable to achieve 100% insulation covering over a plenum), faced on both sides with a protective low vapour permeability 25 micron black aluminium foil, reinforced with a 5mm glass tissue scrim making it extremely durable.
Fast installation The Prelite plenum box has a single fix installation, by virtue of eliminating lagging. On projects requiring no extra support, no fixing at all is needed. It can therefore be fitted in just 25% of the time of a plenum box fabricated from sheet metal and insulated as a second operation.
Ease of installation The light weight means that only one person is required to install a Prelite plenum box, and it rarely needs any additional support. We can supply it to fit any proprietary grille.
Cost savings The lightness, pre-insulation and speed of fitting combine to give an installed cost up to 20% cheaper than sheet metal plenum boxes.
